OutdoorGateでは、できる限り持続可能なかたちでマレーシアのエコツーリズムを届けることを目指しています——記憶に残るわくわくする冒険でありながら、自然を尊重する責任ある姿勢を何より大切にしています。
私たちのカヤックはあえてプラスチック製——その方が長持ちします。そして漕ぎ出す拠点も、かつて川に打ち捨てられていた水上レストランを、救い出してよみがえらせたものです。
捨てられたものから
その救い出した水上レストランが、いまや私たちの拠点「グローヴィー・ハウス」——リサイクル木材などの再生素材で建て直しました。
水上での一日は、ここで始まり、ここで終わります——温かいシャワー、できたての食事、そして川の上でひと休みできる場所。
教育から生まれる意識
私たちのマングローブツアーは、環境について学ぶ場でもあります。ガイドがカヤックの扱い方を教えながら、この生態系がなぜ大切なのかを伝えます。
「犠牲の葉」を探してみて——マングローブが手放す黄色い葉で、水から濾し取った塩をすべて溜め込んでいます。
